An Óige Knockree Hostel Nature Conservation Volunteer Group

We are a volunteer group dedicated to the conservation of a 26 hectare site at An Óige's Knockree youth hostel in the Glencree valley near Enniskerry. 

A nature conservation management plan was developed for the site in 2016 with the assistance of the Heritage Council. Volunteers carry out the practical conservation work set out in the plan in order to restore and enhance the various habitats found at the site and increase biodiversity. Some of the major objectives are bracken control, extension of the native woodlands and hedgerow restoration.
